Warm lemon & ginger morning tonic

A gentle way to wake up the digestion and start the day hydrated, settled, and quietly supported. Morning ritual in a mug.

Warm lemon & ginger morning tonic

Ingredients

  • 300ml warm water (around 60°C — not boiling)
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • ½–1 tsp raw honey
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • Pinch of ground turmeric (optional)

Method

  1. Heat water to around 60°C — warm but not boiling. Boiling water can destroy beneficial enzymes and makes essential oils volatile.
  2. Squeeze in lemon juice. Add grated ginger and apple cider vinegar.
  3. Stir in raw honey until dissolved. Add a pinch of turmeric if using.
  4. If using doTERRA Lemon oil, add after stirring — it should be added to warm, not hot water.
  5. Sip slowly before breakfast or coffee. Give your digestion a chance to wake up gently.

doTERRA oil tip: Use 1–2 drops of Lemon essential oil in place of (or alongside) fresh lemon juice. Ginger oil can replace the fresh ginger — start with just 1 drop as it's highly concentrated. Only use doTERRA oils that are certified for internal use.

Marcia's tip: Keep a lemon on the bench and a jar of honey next to the kettle. When it's easy, it actually happens. Consistency is the whole game.
