Benefits of Carrot/Carrot Seed Oil/Carrot Root Oil
It's not just a myth!! Carrots really do help your eyesight. This is due to the beta-carotene which gives carrots their orange color and their name, and large quantities of vitamin A. Carrots are also rich in other vitamins and minerals beneficial for the skin.
Beta-carotene helps reduce skin inflammation, and vitamin A can assist in treating acne. The vitamin C in carrots has healing properties that help skin recover more quickly from wounds - and is great for fading brown spots and boosting collagen production. Potassium is great for hydrating skin cells, and vitamin E is an antioxidant which helps protect against cellular damage.
And so many ways to eat them - in salads, steamed, served with a healthy dip, or sauteed with a bit of olive oil or butter and marjoram (dried or doTERRA essential oil) to name just a few. [Fun fact: cooked carrots are actually more nutritious and provide more benefits - though raw are still great for you!]
But don't limit yourself to just the veggie! The best part about nature is that nothing goes waste.
Carrot seed oil can also be used for your skin. The presence of beta-carotene and vitamin A helps to keep your skin alive. It maintains the elasticity of the skin which will inevitably sag at some point as part of natural aging. This oil has been used quite regularly in many skin care products, since it protects sun damaged and wrinkled skin and keeps the skin firmer and more radiant due to its anti-aging properties.
Carrot oil also has its benefits. The presence of carotenoids helps to reduce the damage caused to ultraviolet rays. And of course, protecting your skin from ultraviolet rays also protects you from skin cancer. Handy tip: it provides a natural tanning boost to your skin when applied.
Carrot root oil can also be mixed with a carrier oil to benefit your skin. It reduces dry skin problems and rejuvenates the basal layer.
